Terms of service

These terms cover your use of the ChampAI desktop application and the champai.live website. Installing or using the app means you accept them.

  1. 01Your licence

    We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to install and use the app on computers you control. You may not resell it, rent it out, or distribute modified builds as if they were ours.

  2. 02Where you may use it

    This is the part that matters. Recording, transcribing and receiving assistance during a conversation is regulated in many places and forbidden by many organisations, examinations and hiring processes.

    You are responsible for knowing the rules that apply to you and for obtaining any consent the law or your agreements require. Use it where you are permitted to; do not use it where you are not.

    • Follow the recording and consent laws of every place a participant is in.
    • Follow the policy of the meeting, the examination or the employer.
    • Do not use it to impersonate expertise in a process that forbids assistance.
    • Do not use it to capture confidential material you have no right to.

  3. 03Third-party services

    The app requires your own DeepSeek and Deepgram accounts. Your use of those services is governed by their terms, and you are responsible for the charges they bill you.

  4. 04What the app does not promise

    Answers are generated by a language model and can be wrong, out of date or incomplete. Transcription can mishear. Nothing the app produces is professional advice, and you remain responsible for what you say and do in your own meeting.

    Hide mode excludes the window from screen capture on supported systems. It does not make the app invisible to a person in the room, to a camera, or to monitoring software installed on your computer.

  5. 05Availability

    The app is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that it will run without interruption, that a provider will stay available, or that a future operating-system release will not break part of it.

  6. 06Limitation of liability

    To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunities, lost data, or the outcome of any meeting, interview or examination in which the app was used.

  7. 07Ending the licence

    You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may end this licence if you breach these terms, in particular the section on where you may use it.

  8. 08Changes

    We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
