Version 1.5.1

Download ChampAI

One app, two platforms. It runs entirely on your machine and talks to DeepSeek and Deepgram with keys you own.

Read this first: macOS will warn you once

The app is signed but not yet notarised by Apple, so Gatekeeper questions it. Nothing is wrong with the download - the warning is about a certificate we have not bought yet, not about the file.

What you will see

“Audio Service” Not Opened - Apple could not verify “Audio Service” is free of malware that may harm your Mac or compromise your privacy.

  1. 1

Open it once and let it be blocked

Drag the app into Applications and double-click it. macOS shows a dialog saying Apple could not verify the app. Click Done - not Move to Bin.

  2. 2

    Approve it in System Settings

Open System Settings, go to Privacy & Security and scroll to the bottom. A line names the app that was blocked, with an Open Anyway button beside it. Click that and confirm with Touch ID or your password.

  3. 3

That is the last you see of it

The app opens from then on like any other. You never have to do this again on this Mac.

Prefer the terminal? One command does the same thing:xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Audio Service.app"

Right-clicking and choosing Open no longer works - Apple removed that shortcut in macOS 15.

macOS (Apple silicon & Intel)

Disk image. Drag it into Applications.

macOS 13 or later. System audio capture uses ScreenCaptureKit.

Setup

Four steps, once

After this the app is just there when you need it.

  1. 1. Install the app

macOS: open the .dmg and drag the app into Applications. Windows: run the installer. The first launch registers the champspace:// link the site uses.

  2. 2. Sign in

Open the app and sign in, or create a free account. Answers and listening run on your plan's credits, so there are no API keys to set up.

  3. 3. Allow audio capture

The first time you press the microphone, the system asks to share the screen or audio. Approve it - that is how the app hears the meeting rather than your microphone.

  4. 4. Press the button

Start a call, press the microphone in the app, and the other person's words appear as they speak with an answer forming underneath.

Good to know

Two more things

Both worth knowing before you install.

It needs a ChampAI account

Sign in with your account - Free to start, one Free account per computer. Answers and listening run through our server on your plan's credits, so there is nothing else to set up.

Nothing is recorded to disk

Meeting audio is streamed for transcription as it plays and is never written to a file. The transcript lives in the window until you clear it or quit.
