Privacy policy
The short version: your account holds your email, plan and credit usage. Questions and meeting audio pass through our server to DeepSeek and Deepgram to be answered and transcribed, and we do not store them. Your resume, knowledge base and conversations stay on your computer.
01Who we are
ChampAI is a desktop application and website published at champai.live. This policy covers both.
02Your account
To use the app you create an account with your email address and a password. We store the email, a one-way hash of the password (never the password itself), your plan, and your credit balance.
For each answer or listening session we record how much credit it used - the number of AI tokens or the length of audio - so your balance is correct. We do not record what was said or asked.
03What passes through our server
While you are listening, the meeting audio playing on your computer is streamed through our server to Deepgram for transcription. When you ask a question, the question - with the parts of your profile, instructions or knowledge base that help answer it, and a screenshot if you attached one - is sent through our server to DeepSeek.
Our server passes these on and returns the result. It does not store audio, transcripts, questions, screenshots or answers. DeepSeek's and Deepgram's handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies.
04What stays on your computer
Your profile, resume, job description, instructions, knowledge base files, conversation history and settings are saved only on your computer, in a separate folder for each account you sign in with. They are not uploaded to us.
05Your computer's anonymous id
Each Free account can be used on one computer. To enforce this, the app sends an anonymous id for your computer: a one-way hash of the id your operating system gives the machine. It cannot be turned back into that id and identifies nothing else about you or your computer. We store it with the accounts used on that computer.
06Payments
Paid plans are billed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We keep the Stripe customer and subscription references needed to apply your plan, and Stripe keeps the billing details you give it, including your address and any GSTIN, for invoices.
07The website
The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. When you sign in on the website, your session is kept in your browser's local storage. Downloads are served from our release host, whose own logs record the request in the ordinary way any web server does.
08Your rights
You can ask us to export or delete your account and its usage records at any time. Deleting the app's folder on your computer removes everything stored there.
09Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will also be noted on the website.
